 All morning long every time I looked out the kitchen this red leaf, or what I thought was a leaf, kept catching my attention. It was so bright against the yellow leaf that I knew I had to go take a picture of it if it was good enough to keep capturing my attention. When I wandered outside to take the picture I realized it wasn't a leaf but a rose petal next to the leaf. Then I noticed the rain drops on it from the night before. How perfect!

Then the problems started. It was too dreary outside to shoot it at a shutter speed that would allow the camera to be handheld. My tripod wouldn't go low enough so I figured I could just sit the camera on the ground. I then realized that the ground was uneven and was pointing upward. I ended up using the lens cap, which worked perfectly, to lift the backside of the camera up so I could get the picture. Too much work for such a simple picture! :o)

I really like the way the picture turned out overall. It is kind of busy with all the grass but the red just pops against the yellow.

This was actually taken on day 19...wooohoooooooo!
