Composition: Good, if the subject of the photo is the large building. However, because of the challenge criteria, the water should have been the focal point of the image. Since the water is viewed at such an oblique angle the viewer̢۪s gaze passes right over it. The other features surrounding the water also tend to lead the eye away from the water.
Technical Quality: Well done, although the focus seems a bit soft. The use of sepia works well with this image.
Meeting the Challenge: Room for improvement. The water should have been emphasized much more—perhaps by shooting from a different angle.
Creativity: Room for improvement here as well. Maybe a closer shot of the water, possibly from a different angle, would have worked better.
Overall: A very nice image, but it fails to rise to the challenge.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
Regards,
Mick |

This is beautiful. However for this challenge, the thing that pops out at me is the building and I don't see how that fits the challenge. Please don't get me wrong. I like the shot, but others will dis you on the theme...

PS I would like to see your treatment of this. It looks like a tri-tone, but I haven't a trained enough eye to tell for sure...

A very nice composition. I think I would prefer that the blacks be a bit blacker with less of the sepia cast. 6 |

The sepia tone works great for this picture. I think it would work better if the falls were more prominent. Some of the foreground could be cropped. |
