nice moment, could be a lot tighter though. right now it halfway reads as an advertisement for channel 7.

The expressions of the people serve this well, but compositionally could have been a bit better. I like the inclusion of the TV truck - that tells a bit of the tale. If you could have, framing it so that you included all of the gentleman and left out whatever was in the foreground would have helped.

I think I saw a similar shot on the week in review on yahoo.

Very good image of the impact that natural disasters can have on people's lives. For me it is emotive without being intrusive (cos lets face it people have enough to contend with during these times). If you think 'front page' then I would be honest and say that there are more dramatic images from the challenge that would probably get the nod over this one, but I could absolutely see it being used within a paper to illustrate the story

Good job

That OOF cone sticking up in the foreground is really distracting. But I really like that you captured the forlorn look on the woman's face.

The fires have hurt more than just the Stars in Californina. Other than the orange cone, and perhaps the cropping, it speaks volumes.

this image, we can all relate to having seen them all week on the news..

for me you lost impact by better focus on & having the news truck share the frame equally with the fire's victims; w/o your title I would not get the impression these folks were troubled

good image..this would have been great with better focus and a little better composition on the sides

you're on the right track, but this image is too removed to really connect the viewer with the situation. the news truck is a nice backdrop, though.
