Quotation by George F. Will, Pulitzer Prize winning writer for Newsweek and the Washington Post.

While I love the edgy processing I've been doing lately, I thought I needed something completely different for this particular quote :-)

This is Tycho, one of my two inside only 10-year-old girls. This is an older picture that I was having fun with practicing some different processing techniques. It is a very yellow, underexposed image. I ran shadow/highlight, LA Whyeth, very heavy Neat Image, channel mixer to desat a bit, used clone tool to create more purple sheet to encompass the whole background and smooth out some bunched wrinkles, then Virtual Photographer glamor filter, then gaussian blur (erasing parts to keep sharp), sharpen tool to sharpen face more, copy eyes in screen blending mode, then dodge the heck out of the top and side edges.

Here's the dismal original:

I am going to try and verbalize what I though when I first saw this shot, but I fear it will sound all wrong. You know the scene in "Titanic" where she is lying on the couch and he is drawing her (or something like that - -- it's been awhile). If the background was red instead of purple, it would look like it was straight out of that scene. :)

Long and lean!! VERY cool editing. I think of all the images, I'll miss seeing your kitties the most. Just wonderful and your quotes are so fitting and esoteric. ;~D

I had to take a breath just after reading your processing. You've done well to take a 'snap' and turn it into this delicate image, which is befitting of this 'delicate' (indoor) cat. Beautiful eyes.
