this was my pick ro win! what happened? I think your shot suffered from poor voter monitor calibration. It is lovely on both my screens, work and home. |

Okay... I'm having trouble coming up with anything other than... WOW. The detail in the trees, the silhouette of the hill, and the beautiful bright blue colors of... Orion? (I'm bad with constellations...) This is an absolute gorgeous shot. 10 |

Nice night image and well composed. Trees, hill and stars balance the image nicely. My eldest son is named Orion after this great hunter in the sky. It is the only constellation with three first magnitude stars and home to the Great Orion Nebula (clearly visible here) and the Horsehead Nebula among other things. |

Nice night shot. Good job of keeping the sky black in a timed exposure. Mine always end up grey. |

I can clearly make out Orion in the night sky here. Good night sky picture. Trees to left are bit distracting, but mountain range in background plays well. |

As it turns out space isn̢۪t exactly black. It is turquoise. So you don̢۪t meet the challenge.
Just kidding. Great photo. Nice job. I am an amateur astronomer also so I appreciate this.

I like the halo over the hill and the trees framing the left side is interesting. The red 'planet'? certainly stands out amidst all the stars. A very peaceful image. |
