Just happened on this while looking at past color contests. I really love this one because of its simplicity and subtlety. I would have given this a very high rating had I been a voting member at the time of this challenge. |

Sorry I didn't vote in this contest. It was over before I knew it, but I would have given this a 9. I love the subtle shades of black. I think this is one that depends on how the viewer's monitor is set and it looks perfect on mine. Congrats on the top 10 finish! |

There's something there, and I can almost make it out - very interesting and a little frustrating. A picture that will keep you looking. |

Nice idea, nice composition. My only comment is that the contrast could have been a little better, it tends to get too greyish for my taste now. |

Great, clean entry with wonderfull variation of blacks/grey. The suit itself does not say to much to me though. |

This is very nice. You managed to make black be a statement! Wondering how many shot you had to take to get the lighting just right...

nice, but with so little angle on the shot, I think it might have been better to go straight on and light the entire thing evenly. |

Regis! I like the ensamble. Also there is just enough light to retain the black without going too much into grey. |

I thnk the hilights could be a lot brighter if you pushed the blacks blacker as well.

I like how you made this feel 3D. This means good lighting and focus. |

Spot on challenge - beautiful use of low key, the tonal range is so smooth - so smart too! |

Very nicely done. I do have a couple of white spots on the left lapel showing up on my monitor. They should have been tacked away or clonned out. I, myself, often wear this "Regis" combination black on black and get many compliments. May you fair just as well! It also makes me mad that I didn't think of it! BOL. BTW, just a matter of taste. . . since you have many angles in the cut of the cloth (both jacket and shirt) I felt that a Windsor knot would have been more appropriate! |

I like this! I wonder whether it would be more striking if the shirt where white, and perhaps a white handkerchief in the pocket? The main subject would still be black...?? I appreciate that may not have been the look you were after, I'm just thinking aloud in terms of what I might prefer in an image. |
