This actually is a long story about this ring. But let me give you the short version. I bought this for our 5 year Anniversary for my wife. When we first got married, I was still going to school to become a tech and work was slow, we were having financial problems, well don't it figure that the engine in my car went out. Well my wife did the most unselfish thing I have ever seen and sold her wedding ring and band to pay for the engine. I had bought her just a cheap band to make sure everyone still knew she was mine. After finding a stable job, and saving, I was able to get this ring for her this year. It is very similar to the old one, with a bit of an upgrade. :)
I don't think I got enough detail with this shot as I only used the 50mm with no extensions. Set the ring in a ring box and lit with three lights from all sides, and a stronger spotlight in front of ring.

Looks like you can feel the smoothness of the metal and sharp edges of the stone - I mena ROCK! I wish there was a little less glint off the top. I thnk it detracts. |

This looks almost exactly like the ring I designed for my wife. Nice capture. |

The detail in this shot is very good, but the orientation of the ring is somewhat bland. A quick rotation for a more dramatic view and this one would be absolutely fantastic. |

Less light would help, I think. |

I hope so too for your sake - lovely rings. The lighting appears a bit too harsh - but good try. |
