A rather uninteresting subject. Some things I would have done differently that may have made it more appealing:
Instead of shooting down on top of the pine cone come at it more straight on (slight angle) from one end. Also, being in color, the yellow background is really bright and takes away from your subject. Because of the very shallow DOF, it is hard to tell where your actual point of focus is. |

| This is a little bit tight in the frame. You have the room to move it to make it fit better. You could also come in even closer and that would also be okay. This is not as clear as it could be either, which is what I'd like to see for this kind of photo. |

| I feel that with no particular point of interest other than the whole pine cone it should have all been in the depth of field. A longer exposure with a smaller aperature would have accomplished this. Just my opinion. 4 |

| I find the DOF to be too narrow and the bg color to be unattractive. I also don't find anything to distinguish your picture of this very commonplace subject. |

| Little bit of noise and could be sharper. Next time try a bit more light, sometimes that will help. Pretty against the yellow. |

| I like the idea...the two things that bother me in this shot is the way it's cropped, and the black spot on the lower right part. I would have liked to have seen the whole subject. Well done nonetheless. Good luck! |
