I enlarged a still from the original movie, then used two photocopies and Li'l Woody.
Cut out some parts, glued them to cereal box cardboard, laid them over rolled cardboard to get it 3-D and placed Woody in an appropriate position. Shot from above.
In processing, straightened and cropped, made a background copy layer which I converted to B&W, and two adjustment layers (levels and hue/saturation). Flattened layers, sharpened, resized, sharpened again, saved, was surprised at how little time the whole process actually took, yippee, I don't have to do anything about it on the weekend. |

Excellent performance by your stunt-double ... ;-)
Well-executed recreation of a classic scene. |

Modern Times is one of my all time favorites. I stopped to glance at your clock works here and then I noticed the cut-out lines and. They aren't all too noticeable or offensive, but a black magic marker on the edges would fix you right up. It was only after that I noticed woodie was in the picture. He's not easy to see at first glance, but.... I'm old. I do hope others stop here long enough to see the creative brilliance in this one. It's excellent!
High marks from me. |

This is a fun image, and the woodie is a nice touch, however the 'cutout' of the gears is a distraction. |

I have been so burned out on the "Woody" here on DPChallenge during the last couple years, but this one breaks that trend for me. I'm a fan of 'form and function' images, and this one works very nicely with your theme... |

Oh NO, save woodie Charlie! I like the combination of gears, but the focus is a little soft. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know if this is a scene from it or not, so I'll assume this is what happened to Chaplin. |
