in adobe camera raw:
cooled temp, increased exposure, increased clarity, curves

in CS3:
levels, color balance, added border, added concrete overlay and erased texture @ about 30% opacity, 6% flow on multiply blend mode

original before overlay:
(I kind of like it better, I think)

Hmmmm. I'm pretty much with you. I like the original better. Maybe if you hadn't carried the overlay into the margins?

Some ideas are better than other ideas. This was a learning experience, right?

I like how the overlay makes this feel like a painting. Lovely colours here too. Nice work!

I really like this but not keen on the border agree with Ursuala about light overlays

This is so delicate! The picture looks wonderful by itself also.

Later: Came back here. One thing I like about this is that it doesn't make the image all dark and dreary. So much of overlay imagery tends to go in that direction, at least in the dark direction (maybe not so much in the dreary). I like to see an example of "light" overlay.

OH SO PRETTY. What I might've done is leave the frame plain white (not that it really matters) but the texturing adds so much to the simplicity of the dandelion!!!! YAY for you.

This is just so beautiful, and I love the softness, and the wonderful fine detail that you have captured, in this appealing quite emotive composition.
I love the pastel colortones, and it is so perrect to me that I have to add it to my favorites. Well done.

I think I'm must be becoming a huge fan of this technique - I far prefer your overlayed image. It makes it so much more interesting to me! You did it very well.
