What better to conveigh the feeling dryness than the texture of dry toast. I felt that Black & White accentuated the dry feeling so I chose to use the B&W feature of the Fiji S2 in camera. The subject was dispatched with some glee after the shoot although with butter & strawberry jam

Too much info for me. Try getting tighter.

I like the idea, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. Needs greater DOF and I don't think B&W was the way to go here.

Wish the lighting was a bit better. I like the crumbs on the plate. Too dark. Good idea.

Would like a little more light on the toast.

This shot shouldn't be so.. appetizing to me.. I guess I am underfed. 7

dry, bland, and blurry. Very nice lighting and composition however. I think you should have submitted this to mundane, it would have done much better!

Nice capture of the texture of toast. I think black and white was a good choice for this picture - color would have distracted from the texture.

I think would have been better if you have focused the top one. The light a little too strong. Nice texture and ... I really need some water... It looks too dry

Nice shot, interesting texture of the bread. Good lighting.

The texture is here. The subject and composition lack interest to me. I don't like the lighting with the strong shadows and whiteness in the bottom right.

a bit less shadow and a bit more contrast needed IMO

Strange crop, just between a close crop and a wide one, not for my taste at least. Maybe it would be better to focus on the top of the toast to get the texture "out of it". Good DOF.

Nice photo. The crumbs on th eplate distract from the "Perfect Image"

I can taste the dry! Would like to see a bigger dof and the lighting brought up a notch to see more of the texture inthe bread.

I think the lighting and crop are hurting your shot. The focus is okay but either more light or closer to the toast. The table on the lower right is a distraction. This is a good entry and I hope you do well.

Dry toast, why didn't I think of that. Anyway maybe a close up and a cool angle would've been really great.

Very very dry. With such an ordinary subject, so very mundane, I think the lighting needs to be extraordinary to give some punch: your light here is perfectly competent, the raking angle of it really shows the surface of the toast (and that puts you in the higher marks so far alone). Somehow you haven't really photographed that surface though - the concentration of the image isn't there enough. Sorry this is impressionistic, but then some criticism is.

nicely done...

Color may have helped out with this shot.
