Thanks for the comments.
A bit about the tilt: it's due to the lens wideangle. Either both of the statue and the building will be curved and pointing at each other, or i can set one or the other to be straight. Now if i have a PC lens, then that's one thing :-)

It must be some optical illusion, the building is straight, but the sculpture base is tilted.... throws me a bit but not enough to not like the shot. What's with the guy in the back? (7) |

good shot... i like the element of the statue in the image, but it is almost competing with the building in the background for attention... maybe a shallow dof to eliminate some of this or possibly framing in some other perspective would improve my own view of this photo... good shot... - setzler |

Well framed. Nice blue sky also. |

Has a snapshot feel to it. If the lettering on the pedestal and/or the yellow curb were straight, i'd be more impressed by this shot. 5 sjgleah |

nice, but the statue seems a little off kilter and has too many shadows |

Who in Texas doesn't recognize this famous tower? Great positioning and it meets the challenge perfectly! The one person really takes away from the picture. Great job! 10 |

I gave this shot an 8, but I'd like to see more DOF. |

Interesting composition. To me, George looks a little crooked, but I still like this photo! |

From the appearance of both the statue and the curb line, it gives the impression that the horizon is a bit off. If you had cropped this at the base of Washington's foot to the top of the current frame, you would have lost the lower portion of the building, but possibly driven home a stronger message. (I don't know for sure, it is just my subjective opinion.) |

the tilt is annoying in this one, unless the statue actually is on an angle like this.
Sky is too bland to make this very dramatic or interesting. Perhaps a lower angle might have hidden the road and the yellow stripe ? |

The tower, the statue and the road are slightly off from vertical/horizontal. Nice definition. I think you chose a very good viewpoint to take the picture from. |

Great colors in the sky -- and good DOF! |
