not a badly taken ornage shot - they don't work for me being alone, kind of empty shot. perhaps adding a knife or choping board etc..? |

Not sure how you could have brought more texture out of this orange IMHO that is what it needs to have that wow factor. |

I think this would have been a little bit better if it weren't so dark. |

The placement of the orange makes the composition very interesting. The picture size almost makes this look like a pumpkin. I like the lighting, kind of gives you a feeling of the way that the moon is lit."10" |

The texture is here. The subject and composition don't hold my interest. |

Nice but perhaps a bit dark. More lighting would have emphasize the texture of this orange. |

heavily saturated colour - to the extent that in the brightest area of the fruit it's begun to lose detail, and yet the overall image isn't very bright at all. The idea is good, and the execution not far off, but perhaps brightening the whole thing and then reducing the saturation to bring back those details would help graduate the light across the skin? Still, a good illustration of the smooth/shiny and pitted feel of orange skin. |

This is beautifully composed and elegantly lighted. I every much l ike the composition and it surely shows off texture brilliantly. Nicely done. 8 |

Not too bad. Good texture. I think the light so muted is causing your orange color to appear a bit flat. |

Shows texture but not much compositional interest. |

The lighting is interesting - it shows the same effect as the phases of the moon. The texture comes across nicely, but IMHO it could use better DOF. |

Overall I think it's a well executed shot. Presumably you are trying to communicate the texture of the orange, but the lighting and composition promotes the orange itself insteaf ot it's texture -- to me that is. Yes, texture is present unfortunately not enough to captivate me. Good luck. |
