Challenge: Duotones III (Advanced Editing V)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS
Location: Westminster Abbey, London, England
Date: Nov 10, 2007
Aperture: f/4.5

Date Uploaded: Nov 11, 2007

Outside Westminster Abbey there is a field where each year, little crosses are placed to remember the war dead.

I have gone with the definition of Duotone being two colours in addition to white. I run the risk of DNMC from a lot because of that but I like the image, I think it has a strong message.

I like the way you've used Red

I like the simplicity of the colors and how the "poppies" repeat throughout the frame.

I see you took the liberal definition of duotone, white plus two other colors. Good desat picture and DOF. I might like it better if the front crosses were in focus rather than a bit back, but that's just MHO. It's busy, but I like that the crosses fill the entire frame.

This is a very sobering shot, very emotive. I think that the focus is spot on with just enough OOF area in the front and back of the frame. The subtle lines are great and lead you through the frame. My only issue is that I feel that this is not a true Duo tone in the traditional sense. I'm very torn with this shot as I feel that it is one of the deeper more meaningful shots I've seen in quite some time but that I think it stretches outside the boundry of the challenge. If this were a freestudy shot I would give a ten but I'm going to give it 7. good luck and great shot!

Beautiful, really quite beautiful. However, it is not a duotone. ~5

not really what I'd consider a duotone, classically. Good take on a thought-provoking subject though.

Good shot but I don't see this as duotone or an attempt at it... I count three... black...white... red...
