Thanks everybody for the great comments...I must agree that there is little texture in the photo, but thanks for the positive feedback.

Cheers,
Mike

Sorry...the light is too distracting in this one.

Great shot. It doesn't exactly shout "texture" to me, but I can get a sense of the texture to the floor. It is the composition and lighting and lines that make this image powerful. It first glance I found the image disturbing. I thought the leg was a persons and then when I looked at it further it was so strange and I thought it was a skeleton's leg. Then, of course, I realized it was a table leg of some sort, but the mystery and eerie feeling I felt at the beginning lingered.

Only that brief reflection of the leg of the chair (?) suggests anything to do with texture here. Quite intriguing contrast of patterns of light and shade, with the shadow and the laying of wood, but texture it ain't, I'm afraid.

For most of the texture shots I think B&W is the way to go, but not this one. I think color of wood would have actually added to this.

I like this. I think I would have liked it better in color, but not sure. I even like the leg of whatever that is at the top right, but not sure others would agree.

interesting light, well suited to monochrome. good tonal range. Not the most interesting picture I have seen but technically very good. OVerall composition is well balanced.

Great shadows, but, the floor looks smother than it could (which I think would have made a nice cross pattern on your great shadows.)
