I like the effect given from across the water. Living in Dallas myself, I've seen the standard 'Dallas sky line' picture a hundred times over. Good job for trying something new. |

Um, anybody see the colors "framing" the city? The colors of the sunset show up behind the city and in the water on my monitor but may not be visible on others. I'm not complaining mind you, just curious if I should stay away from subtle coloring in future submittals.
Thanks to those who took the time to comment. |

perhaps "big d" should be a bit better defined |

Initial=interesting colors & reflections Composition=the horizon being in the center of the shot cuts this photo into 2 images... upper and lower. Better if offset higher or lower in the frame. Clarity (focus, details)=well done. Exposure=Maybe a bit underexposed even? not sure. Night shots are difficult. Overall well done. Interesting or Emotive=mildly interesting. Maybe the subject is too far away to be captivating.
I am using a this new detailed commenting method inspired by autool. (Thanks autool!). I hope you find it more helpful than my former comments. Thanks for submitting, and good luck! ;0) kpb

NIce reflections on the water, but maybe a bit too much black. A tighter crop on the buildings maybe? |

Very nice night shot, just a bit sparse though. |

I love the colors in this photo. The focus is not as sharp as it could be, but that may be a product og extended exposure. I like it. 7 |

I thought about this alot and give it an 8 - I like the color and I like the contrast - somehow the thing got brownish and my eye is looking for night blue and blk - the color is great - nice pic! 8 sgtpepper6344 |

i like reflections of lights on water, and yours are done well, but overall, my eyes are searching the dark a lot. i think there's just a little too much of it in the photo (for my liking). i wonder what it would look like with the right side and top cropped so that the reflections really become the focus of the shot.
challenge met -- yes composition / appeal -- good. maybe a little tighter crop. technical -- good. reflections are well visible but lights are not blown out ... well balanced. overall -- 6 gr8photos :) |
