I like it, a handle from a pair of scissors is definately what I would call mundane and you made it interesting. Very well done.

Wow - creative abstract with interesting composition. I love that you haven't lost any detail in the reds - so often you see reds that are so saturated that they have no form, shadow or texture to them, but this has a nice fluid feel throughout. I love it! 8

Yep, this is what this contest is all about. Mundane item but you've made it interesting (at least to me); punchy color, abstract shape yet still enough of the handle to tell what it is. One of my pick for a ribbon

I am sure this is agood photo technically, clean background, good range of shades in the red object but what is it - the title doesn't help me?
