 Umm . . . this is an old rusty nail. . . ?

Increased red saturation a little, decreased all other colors (the wood was looking quite blue). Cropped and unsharp mask. Sharpening was a pain because of all of the little wood grain cracks and highlights. I sharpened the whole thing, but then did additional sharpening just on the nail.

Very nice detail and I like the colors very much and also that the wood tone gives an almost select desat look. I think this might have been better with a CW rotation to make the diagonal of the wood grain more severe and also the nail. OTherwise very fine!

Not quite. Need to have nail jump off page a bit more in contrast to wood.

Great idea for this week's challenge! The black and white contrasts very well with the rust color of the nail, and the fact that the nail is bent over is also a plus in my eyes. The only thing I can think that might be improved is the darkness in the bottom, left corner. A solid 8.

Wow! That's incredible! Great textures and the way the wood is almost black and white works so well against that rich rusty red. This really is wonderful!

Very nice work... I find the wood grain and texture fascinating. The rusty nail against the texture of the wood indeed makes something mundane into something interesting :)
