I think I loved this photo for precisely the reason some others were commenting in a negative fashion. I like that you CAN'T see whose stone he is looking at, and the fact that you can't see his face but the body posture evokes grief and almost a moment of silence. The title is perfect and it is definitely blue ribbon material by my standards. |

Nice shot. I would like to see him looking at tombstones but with this shot I can't tell that. Either if you stepped back a ways or had his in the same pose behind some of those headstones it would be better IMHO. |

I like it, a different take on the challenge. The repeating patterns broken y the lone man sets a stark aloneness. |

Emotional and physical takes on the challenge... this style looks very familiar to me. Something in the focus isn't feeling right here tho. |

The almost literal definition of alone in a crowd. Cant say much beyond that. Highest rated image in this challenge in my opinion. |

Very poignant & insightful interpretation of the challenge. I would prefer to see the stone the veteran is facing and peraps place him back further amongst the stones. Perhaps you were trying to assure his cap was legible, but I think the context (particularly with the title) is easy to understand. Thanks for a very thought provoking entry. |

What a powerful image. Unfortunately, my eye gets drawn away from the subject, which tends to follow the gravestones up and out of the photo. Huge emotional impact, though. |

invokes the challenge title nicely - he's very much alone and the crowd in this case have to be represented by 'tokens' but to him at least they are very real. Not just white slabs but names, faces, laughs and mannerisms that we cant see and won't get to. |

This means so much to all. The image reminds me that we are not invisable and we will always leave behind something to be thought about in the future. |

That's sad. His slumped body language and hidden face contribute mightily to the mood, and your title is perfect. |

I really like this shot, very well composed. I'd be curious though if I'd like it even more with a greater DOF to get all the tombstones in focus. |

Nice photo. Would've loved to see more of the man's face. Perhaps more included in the foreground to see a name of someone he may have been visiting, otherwise, nice photo and moment. |

The composition looks a little too tight around the man. I like to see more space on left and top. |
