 Hey, this is my wife's cousin, swimming in a high school swim meet. He won his heat and was pretty happy. A great performance by the youngest guy on the varsity, we were happy for him..

it almost looks like he is swimming in water with ice on top (but that could be because of all the snow pictures i just looked at.)

Nice action shot, but it's a bit dark for me too. I'm guessing that the lights you had to shoot under were probably difficult also. The border sort of fits, but the white is a bit too contrasty compared to the picture, IMO.

On the + side: really cool action shot, good focus and composition.
On the - side: not sure about the border and it looks a bit underexpposed.

And welcome aboard! I can totally related to the tappering of photography due to a hectic lifestyle... Hang in there - it will come back!

Dont know if the border works here..
Also I wonder if a pan motion blur can be done on swimmers....just a thought.

I like the sense of drama this shot contains. You've caught him at a great spot with his competition just behind. I like the way both faces are in there.
