Nice expression, light is too harsh and flattens the image. The only conflict I see is that it doesn't fit the challenge at all.

cute child. Is there a conflict here?
03/01/2004 12:11:49 PM
This is more "reluctance" than conflict, isn't it?
02/27/2004 11:19:38 PM
It's a cute picture, might be a little oversaturated or something, can't quite put my finger on it. Also lighting could be a little better, alot of shadows. I'm having trouble with the conflict aspect of it... Hard to get him to smile? I dunno... sorry.

Very nice portrait, but I'm not sure where the conflict is.

There is no conflict here whatsoever. Perhaps it was supposed to be that the kid didn't want to smile so he was making a false smile? Either way, it really isn't apparent at all and the flash used really detracts from the quality of the portrait. 3

Conflict between the expression he WANTS to have and the forced smile? Good idea, I think, but it's a bit flat and blurry.

Cute kid, terrible photograph

Conflict? How???
02/26/2004 11:35:48 PM
nice family album foto. no conflict, bad quality it would be a 1 but because the kid is cool 2

the flash is too harsh and directed - the strong shadows on the wall are distracting, and the face is too bright. try some tissue paper over the flash to help diminish this. also kind of a stretch for conflict, but I guess I can see it if you've forced the poor lil guy to smile :)

I'm assuming the conflict is getting the child to smile...picture is a bit out of focus, and really doesn't have any 'snap' to get the viewer's attention

Conflict?
02/26/2004 02:55:01 PM
OK, I think I see where you're going with this, but it doesn't come close. unfocused and harsh lighting and shadow caused by flash detract further from the image.

does not meet the challenge at all
too much like a snapshot 1

is the conflict that he's trying not to smile? it doesn't really show..
02/25/2004 09:11:02 PM
A little out of focus.
02/25/2004 07:23:05 PM
Conflict huh? There is NO conflict here...
02/25/2004 06:00:38 PM
where is the conlflict?
02/25/2004 05:43:09 PM
Cute kid and all, but where exactly is the conflict?
02/25/2004 02:14:33 PM
nice pic, but (for me) does not fit the challenge well - it doesn't say 'conflict' without an explanation. Show the pic to strangers, and say nothing. Ask "What is the first thing that comes to mind?" or even 'What is the conflict in this image?' and let me know if anyone gets it.
02/25/2004 01:44:50 PM
what? conflict? better lighting and sharper quality next time.
02/25/2004 12:35:43 PM
I think you may want to try to use a different light source than your flash the shadow is very harsh behind the child's head. The composition is good on this one, but it almost doesn't look in focus. Also, I'm not sure if this photo fits the theme.

Conflict?
02/25/2004 05:10:41 AM

02/25/2004 12:44:51 AM
Conflict-I'm lookin' really hard.
Great looking boy and fantastic blue eyes. The shot is a little soft.
