Shoot details:
Lighting is a single strobe with 45 inch umbrella from the left of the frame, tilted down at the beautiful model. Slightly to the right of the camera from a low angle is a 48 inch gold reflector. This gives me a bit of the clamshell effect.

The rim light is produced by a ramped up curves layer with a blurred mask around the subject. This gives a boosted halo effect while retaining transparency and detail around the edges.

I used the Digital Anarchy Background Designer filter to add texture to the background (which was a blue wall). I then used a layer mask to cut out the subject.

Quite the handsome fellow and I love the facial expression. The sweater is a nice contrast. Maybe you can show us a few without the hat?

I wonder what was going through Mr. 1's head? I'd just like to know how anyone could justify that vote? Maybe he thinks I'm a dick, but I'd at least like him to balls up and say it.

Hey, i really like this one! Multiple things, the lighting, the neat complimentary colours and the sweater too! ;) That cap coming over the glasses is irritating though!

The expression on your face is kinda ambiguous. Can't tell if you're wishing the viewers happy holidays, or silently wishing they'd all get lumps of coal. ;-).

Good, nice light. I guess, you don't have to take my word for it, but I think if you placed that, how do you call it?, the ball at the top of the hat?, so, if you placed that thing better, and if you got rid of the presents, this would have been a textbook example of lightning portraits.
