 A man contemplates a spiritual journey near this thought- provoking roadside sign in Deland, FL. Shot with a model at about 4:00pm. Created three exposures from the single RAW file and combined into a tone mapped image in Photomatrix. Blended tone mapped layer (~ 35% opacity) with the three other exposures with layer masks, applied noise filtering, capture sharpening, color adjustments in LAB, dodged/burned on an overlay layer and high pass sharpened.

Something unsettling in this shot - perhaps the wacky sign, maybe the oversized jacket and the suitcase... What were you trying to say using those props?

Certainly unseen. Very good technically. There is a lot of tension with the person, the sign and the tree.

good idea and composition. the image has a perfect focus, but has been sharpened way too much, as you can see for instance in the trees, that show strong pixelation, or in the line "ye must be born again", which looks like text on computers when anti-aliasing is off.

I love the concept... would have liked to see less of the profile, more toward the sign as opposed to off to the side. Great old country road sign.
