I've been lurking here at DPChallenge for a couple of years enjoying the amazing photos. I thought I'd give this challenge a try. I took the photo of my car, created the ad, and then actually submitted the ad to Craigslist in order to get it to show up authentically. I got a few emails from people wanting to buy it desperately before I was done taking the photo!!

Thanks everyone for your comments. They were all enlightening, including the negative ones. In retrospect I should've taken a more interesting photo of the vehicle. My thinking at the time was to make it look like an authentic ad, and that taking a more interesting photo just would've been incongruent. I had the idea to go to the airport and get some shots of people kissing in the car and use that in the ad. I think that would've done better, although I'm not sure it would've made that much of a difference.

On the bright side, there's nowhere to go but up (well there is last place) from here!

I didn't realize you had made the craigslist ad. I thought you found something online and took a photo of it. I'm sorry I didn't recognize the effort that went into the shot.

Not the greatest shot technically (too much white space for my taste) but your subject is a hoot! Extra point for humor.

Yowsers! Uh, Oh! I hope this isn't real! This is definitely a different view on this challenge theme. I'm not saying this as in dnmc (not at all), just in your style of presentation of your vehicle. BB

hmmm...an interesting take on the challenge. It is an automobile ad - maybe the only one in the challenge, but I am not wow'd by it at all. Sorry 5 for meeting challenge.

I have seen several fo these ads in the past (generally emailed from other people).. they never fail to make me laugh, did you see the one with the DJ in the UK who said on-air he would love to sleep with his wifes sister.. When he got home she had sold his beloved Lotus sportscar.. thanks for the laugh.

It clearly is an automobile ad, but lacks the wow factor that many of the others have

I dont regard this as a serious entry although for a capture of a screen, your DOF and composition are outstanding.

great idea - definitely meets challenge. IMO there is too much white space and too much OOF that doesn't need to be.

IMO I don't think that this meets the challenge rules. I'm sure it will be DQ'd

What a deal :) Interesting how the focus is on all of the important part of what you want your viewer to see. May not be the best fit for this challenge, but I applaud the humor of this. -5-
