 The local Lexus dealer was very happy to let me wander around their showroom and shoot their cars, and showed me the details of their latest hybrid limousine. Very nice car, but the red one looked better. One look at the roof, and I knew where my composition lines were going to come from! The tricky part was getting a decent shot with the 18-55 lens. Wider would have been really nice. Anyway, I managed to get this shot, and hide the people behind the car. The editing was quite tricky, bringing up the levels on the car with some custom HDR routines, and cloning out hundreds of tiny little specular highlights. The smoky white vignette was an accident that worked really nicely with the red of the car, so I kept it.

My wife spotted a few last minute spot edits that needed fixing, so I broke my rule of not editing and resaving a small jpg. However, I VERY carefully stepped back and forth between versions, and I can't see that the minor edits have added any new JPG artifacts to this image. Hopefully nobody else spots anything that I missed. :)

Having been in the business and being married to someone who's been in it over 25 years, I've seen all kinds of brochures and literature. I think this is a fine example. I might like a bit more neg space just to the left of the vehicle, but that's nitpicking. 8

Indeed. Looks like the sort of car my husband wants for his midlife crisis. He's not getting one. The light and architecture in the dealership show off the car nicely. Still not getting one ;-)

I'm not sure if the term is correct, I want to say "vignetting" but in the reverse (white) way. I love this effect. It's like looking through a frosted window at a nice Christmas present! Very lovly. BB

This looks like a magazine ad. The car is well exposed, and the architectural details in the ceiling really help the image. Onlhy thing that drags this down, but only slightly, is the reflections in the bumper ... looks like I can see you kneeling down to take the shot, while a salesman looks on (or harangues you) off to the left! 8

The color of the car contrasts nicely to the B/w background colors. Just a nit, but the car in the background and the white vignette detract from the image IMO. Nice Job though

Nice deep red, glossy reflections. The overhead beams enhance the swooshy appearance. Perhaps cropped a touch tight, but there was clearly stuff to the right you had to keep out of the frame.

Very nice showroom image. Great colouring really gives the picture some pop. A bit of a shame about the black car in the background (though I guess there is not a lot you could do about this). I may have prefered just a little more space between the lexus and the edge of the frame (especially front lower right)but still a very good image 7

Isn't it "The RELENTLESS pursuit of perfection."? LOL!!! The crop is a little too tight on an otherwise terrific image. I like the softened edges/border a lot.

Nice car, and very well photographed. I love the angle and the color composition. On a tight crop like this I would be carful not to miss the front bumper on the right side of the picture. IMHO -6-
