I agreed with all the other comments on it being too dark. Then as you suggested, I turned off my lights. Now I can see it and it is a really good picture. There are tons of items in the back that really pop out at you when the lights are turned off.

But I can not go around with my lights turned off all the time. But also in saying that, I bet my work would look tons better if the lights where off too. (That wasnt a joke when I wrote it, but now it is written I am cracking up)

Edited, Yep turned off my lights and looked and my shots do pop better in the dark, I even deleted some. So what have you used to callibrate your moniture now. If you have

Well, here's my two cents. :)

It is NOT too dark. This amount of light would make a perfect low-key shot (which the voters unfortunately hate.) But a good low-key shot will make good use of what little light there is, and in my humble opinion the lighting does not really work here. The darkness, the colors, and the whole setting here have great potential as a very powerful and atmospheric shot, but the composition, for example is a bit cluttered. Also it would be nice if there was just slightly more light near the subject's face. However I can totally understand if you were in a situation were setting everything up just perfectly was not possible, and I really like what I think you were trying to capture here. The concept of a waitress in medival times perhaps, in a small village tavern as suggested by the background is intriguing. :)

This has an old world, tired charm to it. I love the "lit" city in the distance. And for what it's worth - it's gorgeous on my laptop monitor, but barely visible on the monitor I use at work.

This is an excellent shot. I only wish it would be a tad bit lighter so I could see the woman without moving from my chair :/

It's dark, not saying it's much too dark, I'm into dark images but maybe if you would have lightened the half above middle just a little bit it would make a stronger result with more popping out silhouette.. As it is it's good though, I like it, it's original.

Dark is probably what you are going for but on my calibrated monitor the person's shape is just barely visible. Also, the figure is a bit too central, IMO.

This is just too dark - if I hadn't read the title I wouldn't have known what this shot was!

Too dark overall. I had to stare to make out her outline.

Nice idea. I like the silhouette,. The background could be a little brighter to make the waitress stand out better.

I'm afraid it's so dark, I don't see much of anything there but red tones and black...
