Very powerful! Nice take on the challenge.

This is a very powerful image and I really like the lighting. I'm still learning about lighting myself so this is very inspirational. I like how your lighting helps with the composition.

GREAT COMPOSITION. FOR ME, ANY MORE OR ANY LESS AND THE SHOT WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST!! 8

Finally, a great picture in this category.. well done.

Thought provoking. I'd like a little more contrast between the flag-bearer and the background.

This is very poignant. Absence = silence - a permanent, jarring silence. A beautifully simple image with such a depth of feeling. I like the choice to make the bearer anonymous.

May have been better in color, but otherwise perfect... 10

Wow, very powerfull image. it's a little dark, but maybe that's the point. i've only given out maybe 3 or 4 10's ever, but this is close. beautiful image, thank you.

Powerful idea here, and a strong image. Really good lighting. Do you think there would be more impact to the scene if the soldier's face was shown? Strong score from me. :)

Very strong

I really like the imagery this evokes, but it needs more contrast. The background is so dark it takes away from, rather than lending to, the image.

simple and powerful - a little too dark overall which makes the button at the lower right distracting, sort of floating there

I like the way the stars in the flag pop from the shadows.

Very nice! I would have liked to see this a little less dark, though.

Very moving photo, the lighting really convays the mood. -7

I like the theme and mood of this photo. I think the darkness works very well. I also think it could use just a tad more exposure. Is this a female model? Great shot...

i like the imagery here, it could use some constrast adjustment to make image pop

amazing , simply amazing, 10 from side

This appears to be a womans hands, no? Nice light, good photo.

Of all the many enties I have viewed so far, this one, without a doubt nails the theme: What drives us to silence? A silent tribute for the ultimate sacrifice. BOL As a matter of personal taste, I would like to see a much crisper focus and a more pronounced contrast, especailly in the stars and service bars (but they are gold aren't they?) The softness doesn't fit here. But again. . . that is only my opinion.

Great Idea and a great shot.

My first entry was a similar shot (pulled at the last moment). Your shot tells a great story but better lighting would help - lighting is flat and a bit too dark - at least some part of the composition would be better if lit brighter than the others. (small nit but something about the flag not been folded crisply is out of whack)

Clear fingernail polish only in uniform, please. Other than that, very moving.

Is it the same member as did the conflict with the woman in the army?
It´s done with the same feeling.
Nice photo.
