WOW Ian! Your lighting is better than my attempts at it! I like the composition, and the theme. I can see just enough of the background to find it the tiniest bit distracting - would prefer that it be solid black. At first, I thought the border was somewhat distracting, but it works with the theme, and I agree with Justine-it would make a great Independence Day poster/print/postcard.

| Well, If that is your first 'serious work' then I would guess that you just might have a few that didn't look this GREAT! If you are using equipment that is new to you then be sure to read the manual. There are often times the 'keys' to making great pictures that people completely over look. If you have someone helping you with the equipment and the programs to process the picture afterwords then ask them questions when ever you don't completely understand. (Then again you may be teaching them!) In any event I always suggest that people 'do' something they really enjoy & if you do you'll no doubt get better at it. A trick to good photography is to always use something attractive or appealing as your subject or make it so with your 'photographers eye'. Keep up the GREAT work. |
