I don't mind the soft focus. I love the background with the fringe of green at the top and the flakes of snow. What I would change, if this was my image, is the white halo around the bird. It can't be done under the basic editing rules, but I would use the clone tool to erase the halo. |

thank you everyone for the mixed comments.
the comments seem to alternate between loving and hating the soft focus on the subject, but thats alright. I learned that next time people would rather just stick to the tack-sharp images. |

It's a nice catch of something that was clearly moving fast, but as an entry, it lacking some. Blurry, grainy and other than a neat catch of the bird in flight, not much interest. Sorry to be so harsh on it. |

Nice capture ΓΆ€“ although the image looks a bit blurred. Not sure if intentional or not. |

Good idea, but a bit too much movement. I wish the head was in focus and clearly visible. Movement everywhere else is not bothersome. |

Wow, that must have be a hard shot to get. It is a little out of focus and the bird being in the middle of the frame does seem to take away from the photo. |

If this had been pin sharp it wouldn't be half so appealing. It has a very transient feel, like the snow it's flying through. Beautiful work :) |

Very nice capture. I hope you don't get hit for the soft focus as it really adds to the effect of the shot. |

Normally a shot of a single bird might not do it for me for this challenge, but the way this is presented most definitely meets the challenge. I love that the bird itself is not sharp - it's fluid and blurred and quite lovely. The motion can be felt. I love that the background is a background. I even like that the bird is centered. It speaks of transience, of beauty, of simple grace. |

I like this capture and gave it a 7. good timley shutter for what I'm sure was a difficult shot. |
