Post challenge:
I did indeed find this leaf on a frosty night. Went for a walk with my husband and we came across this leaf on ice scene and for me, with the moonlight gleaming on it, it was Wabi Sabi pure. Needless to say I didn’t have my camera with me ;-( so I took the leaf home and tried to create exactly the same scene in my kitchen.
The ice is a crumpled sheet of clear kitchen cellophane with some grains of sand sprinkeled on it.
I lit the scene mostly from one side to get the moonlike shadows. Tinted the b/w conversion just a touch blue to enhance the cold icy feel That was about it really.

This is a great shot with wonderful details showing. I like use of the angle to give it some oomph. Fits both "everyday" and "Wabi-Sabi".

Nice toning and the harsh light works well for the subject. Not crazy about the composition though. Feels awkward to me. Other than that good shot. Much better than most who didn't get the concept of the challenge. Good luck.
