 My first PDC submission. Hope I understand the rules. It's a dead light day here in Michigan, overcast, really flat. So I took a bowl of nuts and set it next to the east window of the room. This gave me a nice soft sidelight. Since the nuts seem neutral I just let the meter do it's job. I did adjust the brightness and contrast slightly and I did desaturate a tad. Hope it does well.

I really like your picture, am surprised it didn't end up with a much higher score. Very nice work for a first entry! Hope you enjoy DPC as much as I do.

Great texture, and the side lighting helps to bring that out even more. I think a slight levels adjustment here to brighten it up and a slight sharpen would help to make this stand out a bit more and deepen the textures.
