Fun project trying to find an original photo using fire. I decided how about a person burning the picture of "an old flame" ( parden the pun). What I didn't know is that Canon photo papar doesn't burn very well. So I had to pour a little lighter fluid on the edge. I also wanted this on something fireproof, so the plate was added. I thought, heck I added the plate, if I was breaking up I might want a drink, probably crying so I took my glasses off, and oh what the heck why not add some flowers. You know the type where you pulled off pedals when you were young and siad " she loves me, she loves me not".
Fun to do, thanks for the challenge.

I like the idea behind set up (too many props though) and the mood ΓΆ€“ a slightly different angle may have worked better.

Looks like you took the picture in the dark, and brought out the shadows resulting in increased grain. You also put a lot of props in the composition, leaving it kind of cluttered. Otherwise, it was a creative idea.

i enjoy this picture alot. i think that maybe it looks a little too put together, its pretty. but it suggest pain so you would think they enviorment would be a little more disturbing i suppose... i love the picture.

I think you would have been better with just the burning photo - the rest is just noisy and distracting to me

Story and time in a static photo - nice

Evocative. Might have the contrast dialed down a little too low. But good idea, interesting.

the blazing message being portrayed on the plate is overwhelmed by the subtle details surrounding it

This is in the Top 3, for me.

The photograph is sound fundamentally... nothing in the image distracts me by being either too soft or too harsh, and that is always difficult with this sort of lighting (at least it is for me). The props are placed nicely, as well...

The subject is relevant to the contest, but is totally unique from all of the other submissions. That, to me, is what makes a photo a winner - does it fit the criteria without trying too hard? Absolutely.

Your image works the most for me because it offers a story, it is art.

Thank you for sharing.

With some post-processing it would be much better. I mean primarily to get rid of the noise and the gray layer.

I like the idea and the composition. On the other hand, the picture's quite noisy, and maybe making it a bit more contrasty would add to the moodiness. Good overall though :)

Very well staged shot. I think you did a good job especially with the lighting. I can totally see your vision and passion, but overall I am not into this kind of shot.

Interesting shot, I like the greenish tint to give the image a vintage feel.
