Yes, I actually solved this rubix cube. I also used my new lighting setup. I'm missing a part, so I had to hand hold my umbrellas.

I took the pictures on a white towel. I think it takes away from the shot, but hopefully I won't get too dinged for it.

Ya, I don't think a Rubix cube has a natural motion.

That's the same Rubix cube, not 4 different ones. Once you know how to solve it, it's pretty easy.

Thanks all for your comments.

I like the idea, I would like to see a little more contrast to draw out the colors.

ok, so you can solve a rubiks cube....but I don't think this really captures what this challenge is about. nice job though on the cube.

Don't think this one plays by the (nearly impossible to comprehend) rules. Has sort of a modern abstract feel to it.

So, how much time did lapse?

This is an interesting composite, but I'm sorry to say I expect it will be DQd (I say this after following the forum discussion on what is allowable). Sorry. :-/

I see the time lapse here, but I don't see it as a fluid motion like all of the discussion was about. I think you have a great idea here, I am just not sure it met the intention. I will not vote based on intention though, and instead will focus on the image because that is the fair thing to do.

Again, I like the idea. I think the colors could have been a little better though, especially contrtasted against the white. It looks like some flash residue is on some of the cubes and that washed the color out. I think a boost in contrast would probably fix the color problem that I see.

Overall I like what you have done, and intent aside, will give you a 6. Stronger colors would have gotten a 7.
