Well, I have no idea how this will do. I am in this challenge solely due to my League of Death commitment.
I had originally planned on taking a shot of a jet landing at the airport, but between the weather and the feds I couldn't get a good shot.
So, I decided the best way to approach to the challenge was to ignore the challenge completely. In my defense, no one seems to be able to define what the hell 'time lapse' photography actually is so I don't see what difference it makes how the final photo was put together so long as it looks like some sort of motion happening over time. Clearly articulate a concept and I'll be happy to play along.
That said, this is a single exposure. I bought a couple of flowers, taped this one to a piece of black foam core and taped 3 petals ripped off the other flower onto the foam core as well. I tried a few different apertures, and I went with this because it leaves the falling petals slightly out of focus and conveys (I hope) a sense of motion - thus creating the illusion that this is 3 frames of a single petal falling from the flower. Finally, amidst all the screwing around I managed to pop the head of the flower right off the stem. So there is the final bit of deception - the stem is glued on to the foam core next to the flower head... Hopefully the deception is convincing.
I added the texture because the shot was pretty boring looking and I'd been looking at some of the posts in the recent texture threads and it's an interesting technique. I like how it turned out. Hopefully it's legal.
So, all it needs to do is beat my LoD opponent's score. Here's hoping... |

Very nice figurative abstract look. Falling petal would have done for me, but still... I'm not clever enough to say how, but I think such a stark minimal image requires a lot of attention to composition and balance of abstract elements. Great concept though, and lovely stuff going on there. |

The texture is a bit distracting, but I like the single fallen leaf |

Great take on the challenge. I really like this one. It is so different than all of the jumping and action shots. The action is subtle and it is nice. Well done! 9 |

This is a beauty! I love the pattern of the background and the simplicity of the composition and falling petal. |
