Saw this guy Friday night as I was walking to my train downtown. Older guy in a suit, walking to some gig with his pretty fantastic electric guitar slung across his shoulders. Followed him for about 4 blocks taking pictures from the waist. Only a handful of useable shots and even they were way underexposed. Decided to go for an old Tri-X, street photography feel in post. Not really the "DPC standard", but I really like this one. Hope you do to.

Excellent shot - there are times when "not the DPC standard" is really quite refreshing. This is one of them!

tri-x? i thought it looked more like delta 3200...;)
either way, i love the grainy film look (how the heck did you get this approved for dpc prints?! lol) and the guitar really makes this shot!

feels like the old jazz era images..should have clicked this on Rush eh? you handled the technicals of the photograph, the night-time exposure, the lights, the movement, and the PP extremely well..

another for the collection! :)

It's awesome!! Like a spy photo or surveillance photo, but a very cool one. Great job. Good thing he didn't notice you and bop you on the nose for stalking him - haha!!!

Edit to add: the title is very inspired.

I like the 400 ASA/ push processed look of this shot. The reflections in the guitar finish are great. That's a Gibson E S 335 or a very similar copy. It's one of the most versatile all around guitar models ever.

Great ROT composition and a really gritty, 'slice-of-life' feel.

Very 'gritty', you made this look like an old film image. Well done! Shooting from the hip (or in my case, as I drive) sometimes gets a good photo, and surely not DPC "ready" but still good work! Keep up this kind of work, and dont' fall into a rut trying to conform!
