Days End On The Bend

Taken about 25klm from home, the Bilbee Creek Is tidal controlled and a great place for a fish. The shadows were across the sandbar when I arrived and the tide running out, the grass area is the front of a large homestead set back on a raised area.

Camera set AEB files tone adjusted and cropped in light room, and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro. 2 files 1 compressed, one enhanced..

In photoshop blended the 2 files at 50% opacity with enhanced layer on top

Thanks for all the comments, and the oversaturation, this looked good to me, unfortuatlly the morphine pain management I am on must be letting me see things the way I want to and not how they are, I Liked the subject just the colors got confused :):):)

Strong impact to the viewer, and yet, very appealing to me.....

I really like what the tone mapping has done for the trees and the rocks. The water and the sky didn't fair quite so well. They look very unnatural. The scene is beautiful. I love the light and composition.

I think the colors are just way too over-saturated.

Very pretty scene, but seems oversaturated to me.

Great framing, though the colour combination and saturation seems a little harsh to my eyes :)

The curves of the bend are nice. The colors look quite oversaturated on my screen.

Way too saturated. There is a lot of noise as a result.

This looks like it has been over processed

The color of the sand looks a little off to me, maybe it really was that bright though...?

Pretty scene but IMO the processing looks way over processed and saturated.

Nice picture with the river leading the eye into the frame. IMO the colours seem a little off to me maybe a little over processed

nice shot, but saturation seems a bit much.

I like this, even though it reminds me of a Hawaiian shirt print. The oversaturation and oversharpend treatment gives it a 50's feel. I think it suits the image, but others might find it too overprocessed.

The colors look really un-natural on my monitor.

Ouch. Way over processed I am afraid. A lot of artifacts from oversharpening and oversaturating.

The composition is nice but unfortunately you took a good shoot and then got carried away in post.

The colours have been pushed too far for my liking - so my knee jerk reaction was dislike, but the longer I look at it the more it grows on me. I can't put my finger on it...it looks so 'colour by numbers' but it works as a piece, moreso than most of the other more digital art that occasionally pops up. I'd have this on my wall, and that's my acid test to see if I really like an image.

This might have been a good photo if you had not oversaturated
