This is superb! I've owned some chickens for eggs they produce(sounds so efficacious), and I will admit they do have some remarkable personalities. I named every one. 12 of them at the time, and my favorite was Mrs Chicken. She ruled the nest with the care and love I've not seen in the animal kingdom. She never fought and somehow she was always listened to. The weaker would run to her for safety and she would always protect.

What an incredibly gorgeous picture! I love how the feathers blend in with the texture of the background. The detail on the head is excellent. It's funny, I've never heard of a chicken being dropped off at an animal shelter! |

I love how her body and the bokeh'ed ground just kind of blend into one another, great use of depth of field to isolate your subject. Very nice shot! |

Why i just think this is so nice ! Perfect pose , bokeh and blending of color with the red parts standing out as a focal point - very nice work , mary ( & also identifying genders lol :) |

and a brilliant pose this one for sure ... i reckon it looks like the chicken has an attitude as well .. the focus on that eye is perfect .. how lucky to get an animal/bird who agrees to pose for you .. !! ..:) |
