I like this for purely visual reasons, but now that I think about it I see it as a tribute to the U.S. Economy, traditional fiscal values lost, and now mired in recession.

there is a ghost in your shot, the dark shadows...smudge your house...

I liked this one a lot and gave it an 8, glad to see it was from a TSer. The light just does it for me, and I say that knowing full well I'm the type of photographer who likely would have stopped myself from taking such a picture, because of the position of the light. I've got to get over that. :)

This is an interesting take on the challenge, Don. It is certainly open for interpretation, which I like. I'm not going to comment on the technical aspects, because this photo is appears to be about a message, not technique. I do think the strongest aspect is the lighting behind the windows and the two humps that are probably fence posts but could be headstones - which certainly would reinforce your tribute to our most heinous economic conditions. Anyway, bottom line - I like this. It's interesting if not completely captivating.

Actually, Don, with a background in art I can tell you this person does not understand impact. My art teacher's best quote (and most impactful) was "symmetry is the kiss of death".
I believe your shot worked so well because it wasn't symetric. Further, I think the lighting is amazing.

I think for this to work properly, the six panes had to be symetrical and I think it loses impact because of that.

The colour, toning and imagery are very strong but just lack "impact"

Very moody/evocative image.

I like the coloring and lighting on this, but the content leaves a lot to be desired for me. I'm not really sure (other than from the title) what the subject is or what message is being conveyed. I think the moodiness of the lighting and color would work well with a better subject.
