 Taken about one hour after sunrise, this bird refuge and natural reservoir is often very foggy and gloomy on cold January mornings. I tried to capture this mood as a small flock of geese fly in from the right. There are many species in this wildlife refuge, including two bald eagles who rarely show themselves.

Subtle but lovely scene. I might have gone with straight B&W; I think the slight brown tones draw my eye where there's not really all that much to see, though the lines of the water's edge and the texture of that ground are otherwise a nice part of the composition.

In a challenge with so many up close and personal shots of birds, this is very refreshing. You photo is well balance and the composition is great. The mist adds to the photograph but the birds (by there placement) still stands out as the subject. Great nature shot while making it work in this challenge. bump.

Very nice landscape shot. The haze has the proper contrast and all techs look good.

Love the mist and stillness. I really wish either (a) the birds were closer or (b) there were more birds flying.

INCREDIBLE PHOTOGRAPH- BUT... the birds aren't really the subject. The subject is more the scene as a whole. BUT... The Photograph is definitely frame worthy!!
