Thanks to BeeCee ...Yes, strangely moving, and processing evocative. (I find the banding in the sky fascinating, and here it makes a definite contribution to the composition as well as to the message, just as the numbers have their own resonance).
Glad you're here, whiterook .

My post from the "Posthumous Ribbon of the Week" thread;
Folks complained about the processing but I think it's perfect for the sentiments expressed in the title.
The perspective, from a distance... the feeling of now looking in as an outsider where one once belonged...
The lack of contrast, the grain, the posterising... the distortion of childhood memories and dreams brought by those memories...
I really can't express it, but this shot strangely moved me.

Hey...is that the United Methodist Church in the background in Chatham? I remember it every time I drive by. That would be a great one to submit for a challenge!

I kind of lost regarding the title. The picture seems to be suffering from lots of posterization in the sky and excessive image grain.

very thoughtful, whiterook. 7

Agree with the title...but "goes" should be "go". Image appears foggy...not sure what happened to the colors.

too snapshot-ish for my taste.

I'm not sure if the PP of this image was deliberate or not but it doesn't work for me. Good luck with your future submissions.

I'm guessing this is a scene from Massachusetts. Very odd gradient in the sky.

Whoa...watch the posterization in the sky! Looks like the photo was underexposed and you streched the curves to bring it all in. Either that or the color space was off.
