this is a wonderful image, very evocative. and thanks for the story too. i only figured out in my late 20s why i was so scared to put the duvet over my head (i'm still not mad on it) the duvet (which my son still uses) was bought by my parents when i was about 5. i remember reading on the plastic bag - keep away from children, danger of suffocation. of course, as a literal minded child, i took that to mean the duvet, not the bag. oops... |

Oooh this should have scored higher. Excellent use of your lens to get this effect. It's got a dreamy quality but the subject makes it scary. Wonderful job of translating what your mind's eye sees! |

Julianne, this is a fantastic photo. It deserved a much higher finish. It's very artistic, and tells a story. I really love this. |

Only a handful of people created the "visual feeling" of a memory (I wasn't one of them). Bear_Music did it. So did MaryO. This was the boldest attempt. Good work!

Congrats on the Posthumous Yellow, Juli!!
I really like this and it looks like most of your commenters really liked it too. You did a great job of depicting the memory. What a scarey first memory to have! |

Well thought out Julie, I like the color used to to depict the nightmare, good to see posthumous giving this a yellow for your subjectivity. |

I'm giving you a Posthumous Yellow Ribbon for trying to create what an ancient memory might look like.

Actually, you reminded me of my tiger T-shirt. |

Nice take on things. Not completely sure if I like the effect, but it certainly gives it an appropriate distortion. |

Doesn't really describe a particular image, but it is sure scary! |

Beautiful, beautiful photo. Love the colors! Also the contrast and the way it is very abstract while still being recognizable. Good job. |

Hard to depict such a thing - but I think you did well. I used to have recurring nightmares of giant wheels rolling and rolling in abstract space... Memorable to this day but impossible to describe really. Not sure how many voters will understand though ;-) |
