I'm really out of ideas for this one - a really tough but good challenge. My earliest memory isn't interesting enough and I don't have kids, so no access to props. Shot with the fisheye to try to give a sense of being small, and shot deliberately to leave a little depth between the hand and the face. I wanted focus on the hand and the face to be out of focus, but when I closed up to f11 it just didn't work - so I opened it up to f8 and it seems about right... sharp hand and recognisable face. Might not be to everyone's taste and maybe full sharpness would have been more appealing.
I'm trying to keep up with every single challenge so I'm submitting something. I don't have any good expectations for it and a 5.5 would be good for this shot I think but I really won't be upset if it hits an all new PW.
PP: convert from RAW, levels, cloned out some dust on the jacket and a distracting book just out of shot on the left, tonemapped the face, sharpened everything else, noise ninja, border, resize, usm, save for web.
Post Challenge: Yup - we can all agree - it's crap. Ah well. |

| I like the use of perspective in this photo. Perhaps the clothes do not really reflect any particular message. |
