good angle; I think the focus should be on the closest bit of wire; good choice on b&w; |

That looks painful; hope you didn't get hurt shooting it. The fuzziness in front is kind of distracting. |

I like the mental contrast of the gracefulness of curves and the harshness of the razor wire. Did you get a shot where teh depth of field put the coil in focus? Black and white to me looks better if there aren't such large areas of out of focus subject (I'd say about 1/3 at most here is in focus) |

Ouch, so sharp it hurts to look at it. Good interpretation of the challenge. I think some people may be pointing out the lack of focus on some of the wire but I think it adds a touch of interest. |

Very cool image -- the range of greytones in this image is awesome. |

Careful! How did you get inside there? |

A little oversharpened, and the oof front strands detract (and make a triangle in the LLHC which draws me to the building in the bg, putting a ding in the otherwise very good angle effect). That said, I wish I had one just like it. Nicely done. |

ouch. this looks painful. i hope it's not some kind of torture device. very nice find. |

I really like this. cool idea to have some soft focus razors. Implies motion like they are turning. This gets high marks. |

Looks cool, but what is it? |

Great idea and a nice photo. The bottom left corner is distracting though. |

Great shot. I love the angle, focus, and the b/w fits it perfectly. |

wow.. those are sharp! I like the black and white very effective. Color would have made the background distracting. |

that is some mean looking metal - great shot! |

good idea, but the focusing is off. |

Just looking at this is scary - the b&w adds to that mood perfectly. |

dangerous curves of pain! great pic. |

Didn't think much to this shot until I saw the full image - wow! superb detail, a bitch to compose I bet! - this is one wall I would not vault over without cast iron shorts. great subject - Ilike. |

I think this is a great shoot, the bottom left corner is a little distracting though. great curves. |

Good use of DOF, repetition and contrast. |

Harsh lighting and clear focus really pick up the barbs. Maybe if you'd taken the shot angled slightly more to the right, it would clear the foreground blur. |

i love this photo. good choice on the black and white. the repetition is great and focal point is just right. great positioning, as well. the variety of different contrasts really make this stand out. my favorite of this challenge, great job! |

This is another nice photo. I have trouble with photos where the closer objects are out of focus and the deeper objects are sharp.... The concept here is great and the composition is very good as well... |

Interesting shot. Don't care for the fact that the horizon is tilted. |
|
|
04/08/2002 12:38:00 PM |
I wish this was angled a little more to the right, I find my eye is drawn to the edge of this photo and not in to it. |

I'm glad I didn't enter my barbed wire shot, yours is superior! :) |

That looks painful! Nicely done, but the one in front is out of focus and takes away from the impact of the "sharpness" of the razors. It's "dull"...ok, I'll stop playing on the words now = ) |

Ouch! Strong, graphic shot. The very blurred pieces in the foreground are a distraction. Would have been better to have a knife sharp foreground and fading/ blurring in the background. |

I love the perspective and depth given in this picture. the fact that its in black and white sets it off perfectly. |

I really like the DOF on this one.. |
