 An evening spent practicing studio lighting. I got several nice shots of my photogenic friend but this one has the most impact. I'd love to know what you think about the composition and lighting.

While I like the pose the top right forehead seems to be proped up. I think I would have prefered to see the entire right side darkened getting rid of the dark V and accentuating the look. IMHO. BOL

I really love the lighting on this one - it's one of my favorites for lighting in this challenge. I also love the textures, the angle and the composition. Good luck!

I'm back looking at this for the third time. I do like it. I think the fact that I don't see his eyes is what's kept me from commenting today. The focus, light, I like. Good shooting....I guess I'm just a 'need the eyes' kind of gal. :)

I really like this portrait... it's sombre and serious and beautifully composed (with the curved diagonal of the more visible lens echoing the curved diagonal of his lips). Nice use of light and shadow too.

Nice use of low key. Is he alseep? It would have been nice to see his eye which may be obscured by the line of his spectacles!
