My best attempt at improving the "Orange" Brown Ribbon from March, 2004, titled "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" (that's 22 M's).
The original was quite blurry, and despite being orange, did not meet the challenge, which specified that the fruit could not be the subject.
Shot in my kitchen, next to the window with the light coming through a white umbrella for diffusion. 50mm with 1.4x converter and 13mm extension tube.
Opened from RAW, resized, levels, nik color Efex Sunshine (quick) filter, levels, noise ninja, sharpen, resize canvas, resize
Score guess - between 5.5 and 5.7...I hope
Post Challenge - ouch. That was bad. At least I didn't get any 1's. |

| The white wedge between the slices is distracting. Perhaps a softer DOF or a different background color. |

| something is wrong with your orange, not orange enough plus I would have removed the seeds because they distract the eye |

| mmm, juicy. definite improvement over the original. I think that your dof is fairly shallow though - it would have been nice to have all of the photo in sharper detail. good composition |

| The black seed spots and flash spots detract from this, IMO. Good composition. |

| took me a while to figure out what M x 22 means. quite good shot, though the crop is very different from the original. DOF could be less shallow |
