 A golden retriever/lab mix, 8 weeks old. This was shot outside in the snow on one of our numerous potty breaks. Unfortunately, she's not mine; I was puppy-sitting. I guess it's not very creative but she sure is cute. I've not entered a member challenge in awhile. This probably isn't polished enough.

I tell you what, when you have photographed such an adorable creature with that sweet tilt of the head (and good cropping kudos to you) in such a great setting (snowflakes on the nose--ahhhh) with great lighting and fantastic detail (again kudos to you for your dof), this is so NOT 'not very creative' (to quote your original comments). I'm a cat person, but I'd sure take a dog like this thanks to your FANTASTIC portrait. This was within my handful of top votes for this challenge.

My 10 year old German Shepherd JoJo died on Feb. 19th. When I saw this, I believe it's the first time I have smiled since that morning. Although this photograph is aesthetically beautiful and it deserves high scores for that, for me, it is a 10 for many other reasons.

The snow works really well for a background here and I like the bits of snow in her hair. That face is adorable and you captured it quite well. Grats on your first 7+ btw. (I hope to get there myself!)

Congrats on the elusive 7 and the HM. I really loved the white higher key background created by the snow and the little dew drops on his muzzle. It had that major cuteness factor. Great Shot.

You are soooooooooo bad for having this in the challenge. If I could stop actually saying 'arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr how cute' I may be able to say something.

Nope still saying it.

OKay, now my kids are saying it too and saying you deserve a 10.

SO I had better justify it, I like the colours, they are deep and rich even though he is a blonde. The curly fuy on the ears contrasts nicely with the rest of the fur and being slightly different makes it pop out of the page. The water drops, highlighted bring another dimension to the shot. It is sharp in all the right places but still soft enough to grab your attention.
