Greetings from the Critique Club
First Impression
Perfect!
Looking Deeper
I love this photo. It was my favorite from the challenge. Your title says it all. Simplicity!
Compositionally, this is a piece of art. For the challenge it's a perfect fit. Beauty in a stark, cold, yet serene setting.
The diagonal of the layout is easy viewing and makes for a pleasant experience. Granted, the image isn't deep in concept so I don't need to stay with it forever to take it all in. The shadows help add depth and balance. I see a hint of blue in the shadows, which makes sense and solidifies this in the challenge theme.
Something that probably held this back a smidge is the jaggies from resizing on the tree trunks and shadows. Hard to avoid, but still there nonetheless. At full size (print) this probably isn't an issue.
Not sure what else to say. Some probably could find some deeper philosophical meanings...me, I just like it. :-D
Job well done!

A very simple image indeed, but so powerful. Excellent composition, feels extremely balanced between the trees and the shadows... Actually, I couldn't realize what "made" this shot for me until a moment ago - it's the shadows that complete it and make it full. The slightly darker corner somehow contributes as well. 10 from me and my Red ribbon winner. |

Simplicity yes...beauty definitely
Great use of minimalism, contrast, negative space and leading lines makes this one of my three favourites in the challenge.

Very interesing entry! I love the long shadows of the trees, choice of subject is a lil peculiar but adds to the interest of it, however it does seem to be a tab oversharpened? Meets the challenge very well 8 =] |

the title has it... very simple shot, yet very clean and leaves you thinking and wondering what was going on here, what is the story to these 3 little trees. On the tech side I am seeing noise in the white and pixelization on the trees, this might have been cropped in to much for the resolution camera you were using. |

I like the composition on this. Very nice. The only problem is it looks over sharpened or something. |

Great shot, great title...perfect for the challenge. This is the kind of imagery that gets printed large for gallery display. Very nice. |
