Yes, they're the same two swans, but look... it snowed! :-D
I actually went down to this reservoir for a landscape shot after it snowed. Any swans or geese would be a bonus, but they weren't the main goal. When I found these two, I just couldn't resist. I made two trips and took over 1,000 shots. Several people in passing cars saw what I was doing and came back with their own cameras or cell phones. You just don't get many opportunities like this! Any time the swans got close together, I was hoping for this heart shape and they finally obliged for a split second: a single frame out of a high speed burst sequence.
Processing: Convert from RAW, Levels, Curves for contrast, crop and flip the image horizontally, clone out a couple of stray foreground twigs, Dodge & Burn, USM, and add frame. |

I can see why you cropped it this way, but you almost miss the swans because of the strength of the trees. |

I like the framing of the shot overall, but I feel like I am little too far away from the subjects, I dont know if i want to look at the swans or the trees and I find my eye jumping around. |

Nice shot - would have liked to see more of the birds - maybe a little closer from a lower angle. |
