Challenge: Reflections Without Mirrors (Classic Editing)
Camera: Sony DSC-S30
Location: My home
Date: Sep 28, 2002
Aperture: F8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Still Life, Macro
Date Uploaded: Sep 29, 2002

It took about 200 takes to get this and it's still not what I wanted. The focal depth was a definite problem in trying to recreate the image in my head. I concluded it was better to let the gun suffer the effects than the watch. The intent was to focus them both, but my skills wouldn't allow it. This photo in no way is intended to further violence; I love guns but despise them being in the hands of hateful people.

Interesting. It took me a while before I saw the gun.

It took me a while to notice what was going on in this photo. But I like guns, so it gets my vote.

Interesting concept, though if it hadn't been for the title, I might have missed the revolver in the watch face. I would prefer the whole picture to be a little bit lighter.

Wild! I didn't see the gun at first glance, maybe due to the shadow's reflection added to the gun's. 7 Swash

It is way too contrasty, adn the gun is out of focus. what are you, some kind of militiaman or something. The watch is nice, though. Bet some hot babe gave you that for Christmas or soemthing. -6 karmat

This photo is disturbing, imaginative, strong, crisp, cool, blah, blah...I like it alot...I only wish that your DOP allowed the foreground of the watch to be more in focus...8

This looks like a good illustration for a murder-mystery story.

Would be improved by the reflection being in focus, but believe me I know that can be tricky!

Macabre but outstandingâ€Â¦ This is a superbly composed and dramatically lit shot. The reflection is subtle and hard to make out until you see what it is – then it becomes obvious. This is one of those shots that grabs you by the neck and drags you inâ€Â¦ Brilliant photography (10)

The picture works great with the title. I'd be a little lost if it didn't have one, but still a cool shot.

Verrry nice! I love the title and the shot. I just hope that voters look at it long enough to catch the gun as it doesn't jump out at you. The subtleness of it is what makes the shot though. Perfect choice for the watch as well. One of my favorites this week, very creative. I'll be interested to find out the details of how you shot it. Good luck in the challenge. DPz

This has wonderful detail and I love the gold/silver black tones. My only issue is I would love it with a bit more light/shine to it....however that is only a suggestion and nothing to do with my voting:) = 9 shiiizzzam
