This photo was taken at my fiance's niece's 1st birthday party which took place at this kiddie's center. There were soft spot lights (for puppet theatre and such) in the room so I waited to get some shots with people under them and chose this candid out of the lot. I like it because it seems like the child is glowing and brightening up her grandfather's happy face as her mother passes her over. The pair with so many years between them are the center of attention and the onlookers secondary.

I converted to BW and added tint. I sharpend a bit and darkened vginette to firther emphasize the pair [and also because I stumbled on that application and liked it] :)

This was one of my favorite pictures during this challenge. It really shows the emotion that grandparents have for their grandchildren and how grandchildren typically react to it. The use of light in this photo was great. I liked the way the light was focused on the child, yet allowed for the expression of others to be viewed. I assume this was a spontaneous shot and will be cherished forever. Great Job!

ah, the love and approval we all want so desperately, and the child too young to quite appreciate it. This photo is as evocative as an entire movie. A brilliant capture. Somehow you got light to trace emotion exactly.
